Simple and Elegant!

Great cyclists app! So simple and easy to use. I use it weekly at work and at races. Thanks so much!!!

Best app

This app is wonderful. It was handy & fun when I first got it, but since entering the fixed gear road and singlespeed mtb world it has become invaluable. Worth every penny. Would be nice if they add a chain length calculator.

36t cog would be nice

People considering the new SRAM XX MTB group might like to compare the available 26x36 set up with what they are currently riding. It would be nice to add the 36t in the next update.

Whats with the low ratings...

The app does its intended purpose and does it well. Although a bit pricey and bought on impulse, it is nonetheless very useful to have an all around bicycle calculator designed for the iPhone interface. Great for track and street riders alike!

Instant gearing answers in your pocket

Bike Gear Calc rules. A clean interface provides what you need without fluff. Great that tire size is now sticky, and the new tire size selection interface is smart and flexible. The skid patch feature rocks. I build and maintain bikes, and app has helped me provide quick answers for riders "what-if" questions and tailor their rides to their riding. Its a handy tool for all cyclists, from serious mechanics to everyday commuters.

Decent app but overpriced

The app does what it says but is way over priced for what it does. Should be one of those $0.99 apps. Need more functionality for this price point.

Awsome app for BMXers

This is a great app! I’m a BMX dad with two little ones racing so I’m constantly looking for what works best for them as they grow. Before I had to carry paper print outs with the charts on them to the track, now I just carry my Iphone and I have it all right there. I downloaded it the other day and it does everything that I need it to do. The only problem I had is that it doesn’t cover the small slick tires nor does it cover the small crank sizes down to 135mm. So I jumped on my e-mail and sent my issues to JP Martineau and a couple of hours later I receive a response that it will be fixed in the next two days. So I would like to thank JP Martineau for his great product and customer support, which is what, makes this app worth the money I paid.

Fantastic tool

Whether you are a professional mechanic or hobbyist, this is a great app.

Splendid

Useful. I love that the dude on the startup page is wearing a helmet.

Thumbs Up

Great app for the track racer. I would like to have a option for the length of velodrome. At this time 250 meter track is the default and only track length. I would like to see 333 meter and 400 meter tracks. Also on tire sizes, it would be nice to see measuments in "c", such as 700c. Smaller tire sizes too in milimeters not inches.

Fantastic.

Found out about this on fixed gear gallery. This app tells you everything you need to know, and has a great interface. Thanks for making a great useful app.

Trackie

Not perfect, but helps. We trackies find many of the features helpful, but like I said...there are some math issues!

Very Cool

Love, how it explains everything, Im new to bike mechanics and this has peaked my interest in experimenting with gears. Thanks!

Great App

This app was instrumental in convincing me (and my bike shop mechanic) that I should convert my new 2x10 to a 3x10 for the type of terrain in my area. Quick, easy, wealth of information, and with great explanations for terms and concepts to boot! This is a must have for anyone interested in comparative gearing.

Good App

Im adding to a prior review. Still no 36t rear cog option two years after its out? Not good guys. Nice for planning gear swaps, and Im sure for much more- Im not even sure what the skid patches feature is all about. Straightforward and simple to use. I would like to see a few additions for my fellow mountain bikers. With 2x10 drivetrains, the 36 tooth cassette sprocket is now common. Also, 29x1.9 is a common tire size and is not listed as an option (minor thing). Overall a solid app and has saved me a lot if time.

Not what I expected

I was expecting a bike computer that I could use while riding for speed and distance readings. This app is not for that, as the description does state. This app is for mechanical purposes. Do not get mislead by eagerness to have a riding speed and distance computer like I did. This is a fine product for mechanical calculation purposes, not while riding computations.

Missing lots of cog sizes.

With all new gear ratios. This app is outdated.

Does NOT convert for XX 1 cassette!!

This was a waste of $5. It doesnt account for any cog bigger than 36. This app would be great but falls very short for my immediate needs. I cant believe Im the first to ask for this which leads me to think this has disappointed lots of mountain bikers.

Vary good for the track

I just saw some reviews wanting for a 36t cog option stating that was common these days in MT biking. This app is directed to the track or street fixy use and you would never use a anything bigger than a 16 or 17t for worm up on the track. I know people will go a bit bigger for the street. I like the tools that show speed and times for the Flying 200, and Kilo. Sometimes its hard to use the slider function for the speed which doesn’t hold were you slide it too. Maybe if you could type in the speed as an option would be good. I would also like to input single digit increments for speed and cadence instead of every 2 or 3 kph. Also for winter roller work and races the top speed and cadence is too limited. I needed 300 + at over 100kmp ability and this doesnt go up that high. But for practical track per poses it covers everything. I use it all the time and play with all the possible variables for gear and cadence for each event. Match sprint, Flying 200, Kilo, and Keirin. Its great.

Time for update please!

Love the app, been using it regularly for several years. Has always worked well for me. Could you please add cog sizing up to 42 teeth, due to the availability of the new 1x systems? Thanks!
